A very special place in the world is being threatened by Human-Environment Interaction and we will help save the islands! In a few weeks, I will be travelling to the Galapagos while you are working on your projects. I will be able to communicate with you during my trip through Skype and our blogs so that I can add first hand information to what you are learning about the Galapagos Islands. I am thrilled to be going to the island and since I can't sneak you all in my suitcase with me, I will do the next best thing and take you on the trip with me virtually.

Logistics
All of your work on this project needs to be put on your blog. That way, I can give you feedback while I am on my trip and we can share our learning with each other and the world. Use the category "galapagos" so the posts will syndicate to our class blog . Also, use tags to label your posts so that you can easily find the information later.
Some blog reminders:
Use the spell check on your blog posts
Add a photo or video to each post that enhances what your post is about
The Galapagos Islands are affected by Human/Environment Interaction and are at risk because of it. First, lets revisit the examples of Human/Environment Interaction we studied at the beginning of the year in our Scavenger Hunt.
Check out the website for the Galapagos Conservancy to see what some of the current issues are and what is being done about it.
Inspire
For our final project, you will create a VoiceThread about the ecological threats to The Galapagos Island. We will share our VoiceThreads on our blogs and comment on each other's VT's.
Check out this VoiceThread that one of my former students, kbfa16, made for another project. It gives you an idea of how VoiceThreads can work and can enhance conversation about a topic.
